Who runs this site
I'm Ajoy Mani, a VFX Supervisor and Producer based in New York City. This website (ajoymani.com) is my professional portfolio. It is a personal site, not a company. For privacy-related questions, use the contact form on this site and select 'Other' as the project type. Note 'privacy' in your message.
What data is collected and why
Google Analytics 4
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, how long people stay, and what device or browser they're using. GA4 records session data, page views, and approximate geographic location derived from IP address. Google does not store full IP addresses long-term under GA4 defaults. I do not use GA4 for advertising, remarketing, or any purpose other than understanding site traffic.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser to distinguish visits and sessions. I do not set any cookies on this site myself.
Contact form
The contact form on this site is handled by Formspree, a third-party form service. When you submit the form, the data you enter — first name, last name, company or production name, project type, email address, and message — is sent to Formspree, which forwards it to my email. Formspree stores submissions for a limited period. I use submitted information only to respond to your enquiry. I do not add you to any mailing list.
Embedded videos
Some project pages embed YouTube videos using the privacy-enhanced
youtube-nocookie.com domain. YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you
click play. If you play a video, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect viewing data
subject to Google's privacy policy.
Heatmap page
The production heatmap page displays a map rendered using OpenStreetMap tile servers. When your browser loads the map, it makes requests to OpenStreetMap's servers, which may log your IP address as part of normal server operation. No personal data is stored by this site in connection with map usage.
Third parties
The third-party services used by this site are:
- Google Analytics — visitor analytics (analytics.google.com)
- Formspree — contact form processing (formspree.io)
- YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) — embedded video playback
- OpenStreetMap — map tile rendering on the heatmap page
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and terms. I do not control what data they collect when you interact with their services on this site.
Cookies
I do not set cookies directly. Google Analytics sets cookies for session tracking. YouTube may set cookies if you play an embedded video. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or UK, you have rights under the GDPR: you can request access to any personal data I hold about you, ask for corrections or deletions, and object to processing. If you are in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA — including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion.
In practice, this site collects very little personal data. The main personal data I might hold is your contact form submission. To make a request, submit the contact form with 'Other' selected as project type and 'privacy request' in your message.
Data retention
Contact form submissions are retained in Formspree for as long as the service stores them, and in my email inbox until I delete them. I don't run a database or CRM for this site.
Changes to this policy
If I make material changes to this policy, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. This site is a personal portfolio; the data practices described here are unlikely to change significantly.
